Speech Language Pathologist

Sarah Tinkler-Josephi is a registered Speech Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). She earned her Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Alberta in 2009.

Sarah was born and raised in Thunder Bay. She has extensive professional experience working with both children and adults, with a wide variety of speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing needs.

She originally started her professional career in Thunder Bay working at George Jeffrey Children’s Centre (GJCC) in the school-age program. Following her time at GJCC, she worked in Toronto providing community-based services to children and adults, as well as services to adults living in long term care. This included working with individuals with developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, and other neurogenic disorders.

In addition, Sarah is committed to helping others learn about communication and swallowing needs. This has included developing and implementing several educational programs for nursing home staff and families, one-on-one training and workshop presentations.

Sarah is passionate about working with individuals whose lives have been impacted by speech, language, cognitive-communication and/or swallowing difficulties. She strongly believes in collaborating with clients, family members and other team members in order to provide support with their achieving goals and making a positive impact on their lives.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
