Speech and Language Pathologist

Dakota Nesbitt, M.S., Reg. CASLPO is a registered Speech Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lakehead University in Psychology, a Communicative Disorders Assistant Graduate Certificate from Georgian College, and a Master’s of Science Degree from the University of North Dakota in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dakota was born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON. and previously worked for Creative Therapy Associates as a Communicative Disorders Assistant prior to obtaining her Master’s degree. Upon graduating in 2016, Dakota returned to Creative Therapy to continue in the field that she loves.

Dakota’s clinical practice includes preschool, school-aged, and adult populations in a variety of settings, including schools, daycare centres, private practices, long-term care facilities, hospitals, community settings, as well as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. She has had the opportunity to travel to northern reserves to provide speech and language services to both preschool and school-aged children, and understands the importance of building capacity in underserved communities. Dakota has presented at continuing education workshops for Dilico and Mattawa on preschool communication, and school-based speech language pathology services. Dakota is very passionate about the clients she serves and has a desire to make a positive impact.

She knows the importance of early speech and language development and feels it is critical to have family involvement to promote the child’s success. Dakota is dedicated to the profession of speech language pathology and the families she serves. Outside of work, Dakota enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and her little godsons.
