Melanie Maunula

She joined a private rehabilitation company now known as Creative Therapy Associates, in Thunder Bay, where she would gain extensive experience providing services to preschool and school-aged children struggling in the area of communication both in the city of Thunder Bay as well as the surrounding area. For more than a decade she has been working in partnership with educators and community members in Indigenous communities to build partnerships and capacity and to improve access to services for children in more isolated communities.

She is also passionate about mentoring new clinicians in the field of Speech-Language Pathology as well as offering opportunities to other students to explore the field as a potential career. In 2015, she joined forces with a long-time colleague and friend Liz Hathazi to purchase the company they had helped to build over two decades. They share a similar vision and are committed to maintaining a dynamic team of professionals that provide quality client-centered care to the individuals and families in their community.

In her spare time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her daughters and her dog, relaxing at camp, snowshoeing, and horseback riding.
